I don’t think a single movie trailer or sequence all year has given me as big a movie boner as this did. And this is a fan-made video for a contest to win tickets to the Butt-Numb-A-Thon (BNAT), an annual film screening/geekapalooza thrown by the folks at Aint It Cool News. Granted, you could do just about any sort of fan art or fan video involving Aliens (one of my ten favorite movies of all-time) and I’d be in. Throw some cool effects and extra badass music into the power-loader scene? Forget it. I’m helpless against its powers (thank you, Gawker-owned io9, for introducing me to this). But the weird thing is I’ve never even seen Tron, an admission that I know would get me kicked out of many movie-nerd circles I run in, possibly even lightly dickpunched. I’m not proud of the fact. I will find a way to see it before I see TRON Legacy, though I have a feeling I’ll catch on to the story (video game world where shit lights up!) rather quickly. Anyway enjoy…this is pretty friggin’ sweet.
